closer or not as close?

My question to those of us here today, are we closer to God than we "when we first believed?", or are we luke warm in our affection and relationship with God?

Pt. #2: If closer or if lukewarm, what do you think we should look for in ourselves? ??? ???

I think I'm closer to God than when I first believed! I think I love God more but in a very different way, a lot like the love I have for my wife has matured over the years so does our love for God!
